So myself and a good friend are planning a trip around the continental USA starting in July and ending when we arrive back in new jersey (whenever that might be). I’m really looking forward to this, as I think my 20 something years of existence might skew my perception of American culture.

Journeys such as this one are often looked at as eye opening, inspirational adventures, and I’d like to experience the reasons for this first hand. While I don’t expect to answer any of lifes mysteries or discover any secrets about human-kind, I would like to examine some of my own dark corners and discover some long lost regions of my brain. I would like to be able to open my eyes in a way similar to a child experiencing life for the first time. By venturing out of my comfort zone for a few weeks, maybe I can see a small glimpse of what this might look like.

We are planning a few things along the way to make our trip more enjoyable:

Couchsurfing.com is one of them. It’s an amazing site where incredibly generous people offer up lodging for worn and weary travelers across the world. We hope to sleep on a few comfy couches along the way.

I’m also planning on updating this blog on a regular basis to keep everyone abreast of our journeys. Hopefully I’ll be able to follow through with that and will be able to post some videos and pictures as well. By the time I leave, I’ll hopefully have my much anticipated MacBook pro handy for keeping everyone up to date.

Another little project I’d like to pursue along the way will be keeping an audio diary with interviews from interesting individuals along our path. I hope to have some questions handy for this ahead of time, so if anyone has any burning desire to learn the life historiea of a truck driver in Montana or a massage therapist in la, (just hypothetical examples), please let me know.

That’s pretty much it for now. I’m looking forward to sharing more music, pictures, adventures, and stories with you in the near future…
